Last year, as part of a random business elective at my high school, we had to learn basic web design. We learned fundamental HTML and basics of Dreamweaver. No one in the class really payed attention to anything, it was one of those classes schools put you in to look better on a college application. Looking back on it now, I really did have a talent for basic HTML/dreamweaver, and I enjoyed it.
My questions are
-
How does this Career work. Do web developers work for a company, agency, or by themselves? Is this a 9-5? How many hours of week do you put into it? How flexible is it?
-
What schooling is needed for this? A few google searches basically implies it's certification/skill-based rather than degree orientated, but I'd like a personalized answer from a real web developer.
-
Do you need to be able to draw? Are web developers also graphic designers? If not, where do they get their assets for creating a page? (I have 0 drawing capabilities)
-
Is there programming involved? For some reason, even though I like messing around with technology, coding is the bane of my existence.
-
Do you enjoy this career? If you could go back, would you stick with it?
Thanks so much for reading!
