I've spent quite some time understand fonts, negative space, alignments, UX, etc.
And whilst all these helps you avoid design disasters, they don't enable you to make the sites that are expected today, like the /r/web_design template.
So I'm asking if any one you have any guides for making a plain site (reddit.com frontpage) into a nice site by current standards (/r/web_design)?
