I am not a regular, so apologies if I overlooked some of the rules. I see the main help threads are on fridays, but I obviously can't wait that long.
I am asking this for my gf, who isn't a reddit user. She was asked to do a wordpress site for a real estate group. She hasn't done much freelance work in webdesign, but wanted to do this project. She made a quick mockup and wrote up a contract. They agreed and payed a deposit of half of the final payment. After getting the contract she began requesting information from them: the broker names, info, MLS numbers, etc. They would take weeks to respond, and even then wouldn't provide any information.
This went on for about 3 months, on monday they sent a short email (after several weeks of silence) saying that they would be opening Friday. She responded saying that she still need a LOT of information before she could begin. She sent a questionnaire with the info she needed for them to fill out. And suggested they have a facebook page ready for her to redirect too since, she would be unlikely to be able to finish the site by then.
Today they responded saying that they would absolutely need the site operating by friday, that they would give her the questionnaire and other information (MLS Numbers, etc.) tomorrow afternoon.
This basically gives her 1 evening to do all of the work and testing. She said she would have preferred a week to build and test the site, since she has never done a realty site with working listings.
What are her options? Unfortunately her contract doesn't have any information on termination fees or anything.
