Hello, everyone.
I've been using Photoshop and InDesign for years, for simple personal projects/shenanigans. Resumes for friends. Comedic 'shoppery. Things like this business card concept, this fictional blog service or these clovers colored like post-it notes.
Recently, I've had the opportunity to find what it is I want to do with my life, and, to spare you an involved wall of unsolicited personal history, I've recently developed a fierce interest in design and development.
I enjoy it to the point where I have dreams about it. The point where I find myself working on a project rather than play Fallout 4. The possibilities fascinate me, and the work feels more like playing a logic game than anything else.
I want to make a career of this. I want to develop the web for AR and VR, to spend my life making things more beautiful and accessible.
Where do I start? I'm currently trying to raise money to send myself to coding bootcamp, but in the meantime, is there anything I can do to get my foot in the door to the design industry? Anything I can do to test my mettle and give a potential first client a reason to take me seriously, being someone with no degree and no professional experience?
