Is it ok to have your own website without any clients to back you up?

So I'm working on my website. It's still missing some pages but at least it's something, just a simple website to represent myself with. But I don't have any previous professional work done to showcase if people stumble on my website. Is it ok to have your own website without any clients to back you up?
