Looking for help creating a Bootstrap Navbar with equal 'li' items that fill the entire width of the navbar

What I'm looking to do is something like this

I could do it without Bootstrap but the navbar is already implemented and running in a WordPress theme.

I looked into justified navs which is essentially what I want but their docs say it's not supported very well in navbars and alas.. I couldn't get it to format right.

The navbar itself is within a .container class that's 970px wide at it's largest. I have 5 links so I'd like each 'li' to be of equal width according to the scaling of bootstrap's .container with a little bit of margin in between as you can see in the example above.

How should I go about doing this?
