As Backend dev, thinking about website layout drives me crazy, i have no workflow...help!

Ok i know how to make backend work more or less. Now say i want to do my project, so i decide the features.

Coming up with features is hard step to visualize in it self, but with enough time i can get some idea of what i would want. But to really visualize it i have to sketch.

I sketch it out, but it's so overwhelming, it's not about looking good at all. Like i can't figure out what there should be, where it should be, how it should behave....i basically freeze up, as someone would in public speaking.

So how professionals ux/ui designers learn to come up ...

  • correct features (i guess product design)

  • arrange them in right order ( ui )

  • figure out right behaviour/userflow (ux/ui)

Easiest way for me now is use existing similar and popular site's layout as a reference point. As most people are familiar with these sites so if they come to my site they will feel at home, can't go wrong. But this only solves the layout of arranging and not of what should go there.

Epic visual tool
