Hello, I'm looking for some insight in the world of web design and development. It is something that I have long been interested in but have not overcome that initial hurdle to begin the process.
My main goal is to bring web sites and their economic advantage to developing communities. I am looking to create basic then move on to intermediary functional websites probono for small business that needed it most.
I have looked into several options but would love to some input from those who know the industry well. Since I am doing this as community service I would like to keep overhead low which is why I don't want to use a prescription based service to pay monthly. Moreover because these websites are for low socioeconomic areas I would like to have these websites be available for low tech smartphone and bandwidth usage.
Is Wordpress my best bet? Are there any other platforms that I am overlooking?
I know the process will take time but it is something I am truly dedicated to and would like to accomplish.
