So this is something I've been struggling with recently. I chat with a client, they say they're interesting in meeting to talk, working together etc. and then I don't hear from them. I feel like when I send a "hey just following up blah blah would love to chat about X project" email they know exactly what Im doing, I want to work and not let the opportunity slip away.
Is there any point in trying to "disguise" this fact? for example coming up with some clever reason for emailing. I suppose I'm afraid of the client thinking "god this guys desperate" but reasonably theyre probably not going to think that from a single "follow up" email.
Is the best idea to just be super upfront, "Hi I just wanted to follow up about our recent talk. I'm really excited for this project and would love to get to work." etc.
Whats your experience with this sort of thing?
