I'm tired of being a graphic designer, what can I do?

Hi everyone! First of all, context. I'm from Venezuela and am now residing in Colombia, therefore English is not my native language.

I'm just tired of working as a designer. Is not the career choices I made, it's not my portfolio or my capabilities. It's the workplace, the nature of working as a designer. It's the bosses that think they know more about design that you, that get mad when you challenge (even politely) their shitty idea execution. I mean, it's one thing that your boss has one idea and he/she wants to see it executed perfectly by trusting your judgement or criteria, and it's something completely different having a boss breathing on the back of your neck telling you "I want it black, but not dark-black like you did. I want it black-black" or designing for you and rejecting all your advises, ideas, knowledge and experience.

It's the business owners that want to make even the slightest design decision and using you just because the don't know how to use Illustrator or don't know jack shit about html but get mad when you unfortunately advise against his decisions. It's the bosses that tell you "I don't pay you for thinking, I pay you for doing what I want, or the worst that my boss told me today: "What you learned in college is one thing, but here we do things differently". I should feel offended by that but I'm just too tired and disheartened. Today he wants one thing, and tomorrow he wants a different thing and get mad that nothing works and the result is a convoluted mess and gets mad that I'm not autonomous enough to do things my way.

Sorry for the rant. I know these cases are common and are practically the bad part of working as a designer (at least where I come from). Is there another specialization or branch that have a better status, pay, or (specially) less annoying workplaces? Maybe 3D modelling, video post-pro, video edition or animation? Being freelance here is a joke (too many cheap clients and low job security) so that's out of the question for now.

Please tell me, what are your experiences? Did it got better? ...does it get better? What did you do? What can I do?

Thanks!
