I'm a stationer and letterpress printer. A substantial portion of my business is printing letterpress business cards for small businesses and the occasional corporation.
It's hard to know the state of the industry, as most printers custom-quote projects. I wasn't even sure what my competitors are charging. There are a few companies that publish pricing or provide price calculators. I combined data from those with the information shared by a few friends.
For a 2-color business card on very thick paper, the average prices were:
- $272 for 100
- $373 for 250
- $525 for 500
I'm really interested in your reactions to these numbers. Would you find it worth the investment? What business are you in? Here's more on my pricing research.
And if you have no clue what I'm talking about, here's a few of my letterpress projects as reference.
