Prototypo, is it worth it?

I've been getting a lot of logos lately and demand custom typefaces,

has anyone here tried to use prototypo before to create fonts?

their last update was sometime around 2015 so i'm wondering if they're still actively updating this software.

anyone tried anything similar?
