Discussion about print readability (with attention paid to dinner menu designs)

I've recently started designing menu's for a few restaurants in my town. They change menu's regularly, so work is steady. They also are edgier, hip restaurants, who don't mind stepping outside the box when it comes to design (to an extent- cost is an issue.)

That said, I'd be interested in

  • your thoughts on what the best fonts for printed readability is.

  • what do you always need to consider when designing material that you know will be printed.

  • any advice you may have for me as I continue to work in the restaurant sphere - designing menus, newsletters, social media management, etc.

Great design resource
