Is it okay to center text on a logo that has 2 colors meeting in the middle horizontally?

I'm creating a logo and am not sure if this i a good idea. Top half is 1 color and bottom is another. If i put text centered, it will cut symmetrical letter like K in half and look too "clean". I've been going over this for so long that i don't know anymore if it looks bad or is it just me obsessing over it.

If i want to offset it either up or down, how much should it be and is there "correct distance"?
