My creativity has thoroughly corrupted

So, I'm a man of many ideas. I'm working on my masters degree in Computer Science, but got a student job as a web developer. Over the years I have made my fair share of websites as well, and I am very very comfortable in the newest CSS/JS techniques and best practices.

Yet, with my multitude of ideas I always seem to get stuck along the way. In the older days my workflow was more oriented around "make something awesome in photoshop, code that shit up". Fuck responsiveness, fuck mobiles fuck everything, as long as the site is cool.

Now a days when I have a new idea, I get stuck when I think about the design phase. Granted, I'm not a design guy, but I'm fairly creative. Yet all I can see is twitter bootstrap, flat ui's and crappy web 2.0 everywhere.

Literally the only sites that has more intriguing designs and flirt with creativity, are game related websites. They feature some awesome game art, and make a design which suits it.

What do you guys do to get over this? Do you subdue and just pull in bootstrap and make it a little different? Not every site is a eCommerce site, some fancy business layout, or some crazy full-page portfolio - it seems those types of sites got lost along the way. Just look at the submit form of this subreddit, it reeks of webdesign anno 2015.

How do you spike your creativity, how do you get out of the box?

Edit: oh, and I cannot title. "has been thoroughly..." :|
