Does a designer need a personal logo? Personal experiences and comments are totally welcome.

Although I have plenty of ideas for a personal logo for myself, I find it difficult to pigeon hole myself into one image. I am considering to just simply display my name with my favorite font that looks professional..but would that be bad move?

Is it important for a designer's brand to have a logo or without one?
