HTML/CSS style wont work on one part. Newbie

So on my Github page, (illevate.github.io), most of my CSS works.

However, my header is boring and doesnt look like the style of code that I wanted it to. I made a new class called "header" that differs from my body class of "hero" that makes the nice looking CSS already work.
