Best fonts for a CV / resume?

I have flitted between countless fonts over the years from Times New Roman and Arial to Segoe UI and now Bembo

I have liked other fonts but find that often the kerning between numbers to be very inconsistent meaning they don't line up at the side when you are putting dates / years etc for example...

2011 - 2012

201 1 - 201 2

instead of...

2011 - 2012

2011 - 2012

You get my meaning, also many fonts use up more space top and bottom while others seem super condensed needing bigger font sizes to be legible etc...

I would like to know what you use that offers both style and classiness yet simple enough and effective?
