Branding my business (car wrap shop). Afraid I may be an /r/delusionalartists.

My company is called Black Ink Wraps. We specialize in mostly vehicle graphics, but wrap everything. A portfolio is on Facebook at http://ift.tt/1jICNAA.

My original thought of a logo/brand was an octopus wrapping around a car with a pool of ink spelling Black Ink Wraps. I was thinking the octopus covering a car similar to vinyl and the ink as we deal with printed media.

I really liked the idea of an octopus as I believe it could be a strong brand, have a lot of design flexibility and would have solid recognition. Feedback I've gotten is that the octopus is too much. Some people didn't even understand that octopuses emit ink.

The other option I was considering was just going with an ink splatter with the name cut out in it. Simple, clean, easy to read.

I attached an example of a poorly drawn sketch I had done:

And a simple ink splatter design available:

I appreciate your time and looking forward to your feedback.
