Knowing I'm a web designer, a friend of a friend asked me if I would help them design/develop a website for their family's business. They own a small used car lot. I obviously said "Of course, I'd love to."
They already had a domain and wordpress installed but that's about it. They had a theme and some random pages, but they couldn't get much further than that.
They wanted 4 pages: Home, About, Contact/Credit Application form, and a gallery of the cars available.
In the end I quoted them an estimated $800 and they turned it down.
Did I ask them for too much? I told them I'd be willing to negotiate but I thought it was a fair price.
