Am I being careless? Issues with QA of work before sending to client, looking for advice.

I'm a web designer / front end dev. I've found that in the past, after staring at a website / project for days, weeks, months, I sometimes miss minor copy issues on a website once it's ready to send for approval. For example, maybe a typo here or there or a dead link. I've tried to explain that sometimes I might need a second set of eyes on these things, but I'm worried that means asking someone else to do my work for me - although that's not intended.

Today I got chewed out by my boss for this because we had a client catch a mistake with a URL on something that we sent over. I'm looking to prevent this from happening again, so I'm curious if I could get input on other designer's QA process.
