Where to look for help?

So I am not trained in web design, nor do I understand all of what I am trying to do.

I am in the process of building a website half for education and half for, well, to have a website. My current issue is with a pop-up slideshow in a lightbox. I used this guys script but now the page will not load. I'm starting to feel pretty lost.. Anyone have a good resource for help with these kinds of issues? A place that has patience for uneducated noobs?
