The Design Update: How reliable is the device simulator on Macs?

Hey all, I just discovered today that my mac can open a simulation of pretty much all mobile iDevices and I freaked out at how useful this could be. Before I get too excited though, I was just curious if anyone has used this for web design/development, and how accurate it is compared to what you'd see on an actual device?
