What do you guys think of using Chrome extension to enhance font rendering?

I went through list of my installed yet disabled extensions and I bumped into one that enhances font rendering in Chrome.

I don't know why Chrome appears to have thinner and lighter font rendering than Firefox and IE/Edge. Since I first realized it many years ago, I thought over the years they would fix it, probably through implementation of directwrite, but rendering is still visually different.

Why Google insists on such difference? Is one more right way than the other?

Finally, would you as web designers / devs use such extension or do you prefer to have rendering As it is so you know what you are dealing with during design/development process?

Epic visual tool
