What's your opinion: Regional UX/UI traits and app trends?

What apps do you think exemplify a particular region in the US with their style and ux? And what traits do apps from those regions possess?

My initial thoughts:

  1. Silicon Valley (San Francisco to San Jose) traits: Productivity, Shared Economy, distilled and simple - examples: AirBnB, Facebook, Google

  2. Silicon Beach (LA, San Diego, Santa Monica, Santa Barbara) traits: hip, apparel, lifestyle - examples: Snapchat, Tradesy, Dollar Shave Club

  3. Pacific Northwest (Oregon, Seattle) traits: Professional, No nonsense, Data driven - examples: Amazon, Microsoft Office, Simple

  4. Austin, TX (??) I feel like austin is the India or Romania of the US. Austin has contracts with every region, but I don't know what its own personality is.

  5. New York City traits: High Fashion, Bold, Serif fonts, fashionable typography. Examples: Gilt, Beme,

  6. Boston traits: med-tech, conscience - examples.. (?)

  7. Japan traits: We are Nintendo. Examples - Mario Run.

  8. Silicon Slopes (Provo) traits - ??

  9. Anywhere else?
