What Tablet Is The Professor Using?
I am watching a video on computer vision and the prof is using some kind of graphic tablet with a mac, and when he was drawing on that tablet, he didn't look at the display of the mac, so I assume that the tablet has a display that is projected from the mac screen.
I have used bamboo tablet before and it was awkward because the eye-hand coordination is disrupted, something like the above would be very cool (at least while I'm waiting for Tim Cook to finally wake up and release a macbook pro with a touchscreen). Does anyone know what kind of tablet that is?

[Serious] As a designer, what will you do if you lose your eyesight? Story inside...
One of my friends who is a designer has lost most of his eyesight. After many almost dark months, he is now able to see a bit and walk, go to market and do basic stuff but he can't distinguish properly between colors anymore. He uses very very high number of eyeglasses (those thick ones) and uses laptop with magnifier software and/or speech converters.
Any ideas or recommendations on what next step he can take towards starting work again? He personally thinks that he needs to switch his career and maybe move towards core programming through online courses.
He was mainly a photoshop designer who created website front ends with some front end coding like CSS, HTML, basic JS.
P.S. He doesn't live in a first world country. Actually, a poor country and can't expect anything from government.

charity fundraiser needs help locating a graphic
If this is the wrong/inappropriate place to post this, I apologize. The rules in the sidebar didn't seem to discourage it.
I'm organizing a charity fundraiser to raise money for Water for People. It's a wine tasting/silent auction and all proceeds go to charity.
Anyway, I ran a similar event 4-5 years ago and have an old flyer with a wine glass I want to use on a new flyer, but I can't find the original image and the InDesign file I have seems to be just a pdf.
Can anyone help me locate the original image or somehow extract the image from the flyer?

Alternatives to PowerPoint?
I am looking for something new to jazz up what would normally be a corporate type presentation. My colleagues mentioned Prezi, and I wanted to look at what else there is that could make a presentation extraordinary.
Would greatly welcome ideas on either different apps or new approaches that might be unique and special. Thank you!

Where to download the best fonts?
Title is pretty self explanatory. I am recently new to design, changed my major to marketing and graphic design last year. Often times when making a project or design of some sort , choosing a font is one of my biggest issues. I don't have many fonts in my programs, so I was wondering if there was a pack that is popular to download online with some good fonts.
Thanks!

I have an interest in and an eye for design, but I'm not much of a visual artist. Is UX/UI design realistic for someone like me? How?
Hey /r/design,
I'm 26 and considering diving into the world of design: studying it then working in it.
Over the years, I've developed my own strong sense of what I love and hate in product and UX/UI design of the websites and objects around me. I've also developed a keen interest in the ethics of design (think "is it good for Facebook to be so addictively designed?").
I want to make the world better through good and empathetic design, but I'm not much of a natural drawer/sketcher/visual artist. Is there realistic opportunity for me in UX/UI design? If yes, how can I best kickstart this journey?
All advice and direction is greatly appreciated. :)
P.S. I'll be slowly hitting cities along the coast from Vancouver to LA in a stealth camper van over several months this spring. Feel free to throw out suggestions for design-related pursuits/people to learn from or enjoy.

Best sites for graphic tees?
Hey friends! Was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations for where to buy cool graphic tees? It seems impossible to find any in stores that aren't basic & that don't incorporate shitty sayings. Online I'm struggling as well. I buy video game shirts on redbubble sometimes. I've been looking on threadless/designbyhumans & they both have nice stuff but it's still not quite what I'm looking for.

Tips for interview with 6 different people, over a course of 3 hours.
Hello everyone. I have a interview coming up at a company that I will be interviewed by 6 different people over the course of about 3 hours. Their positions range from mangers, seniors mangers to directors. Besides the company research I have done. I have googled them all and have seen where else they have worked previously.
I will bring my iPad to showcase my work. I am pretty sure the art director has seen my work, because I had a phone interview with her previously but doubtful about the 5 other interviewers.
I was wondering if anyone has tips for me for this type of interview. I have had interviews with multiple people at once, which was kinda of nerve racking and made me stumble over my words. Since this interview is with one person at a time, I think I would be able to explain my work more directly.
Some quick questions: Any advice to stay "fresh" for each person I will talk to? I imagine I will be explaining my work to each one over and over.
Should I have 6 business cards and resumes ready to hand to everyone at the end of each interview?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

[Question] ELI5 deciding on widths
I'm a web developer starting my own business and I feel like my biggest weakness is figuring out the widths (and to a lesser degree, heights) of my elements on a website. It feels like I'm haphazardly deciding on widths/padding/margin without any idea what I'm doing. Is there some kind of theory behind figuring out decent widths, especially pertaining to websites?

Will I not be taken seriously if I use the Affinity suite over Adobe?
I've been using Affinity designer extensively in replacement of illustrator because of how much more user friendly and quick the workflow is. Creating new art boards, the UI, Boolean operations, layer manipulation...etc. although I still use photoshop, I can't imagine that people use anything else other than illustrator in industry-- or am I wrong? Are the Affinity programs still considered valid for professional use? For reference, I'm interested in UX and UI.
