I am NOT asking for free work!
Hi, I'm a survivor of the Camp Fire disaster in Paradise, CA. If you haven't seen on the news, on the morning November 8th our beautiful mountain town nestled in the Sierra Nevadas was destroyed in less than a day by a wildfire. It has taken the lives of at least 81 people with hundreds more missing, countless pets and wildlife, and has destroyed 95% of the homes and businesses in our community. It has been a harrowing experience that we never thought we would see in our lifetime. Our town is full of strong and loving people and we will persevere and rebuild, even if it will never be the same again.
Now that we have got the depressing shit out of the way, let's get down to the T-shirt idea!
We had a visit from the president to our town after this disaster and much to the amusement and annoyance of all of us from Paradise, he referred to our town as Pleasure, CA. Twice. It has now become a joke with our community to call Paradise "Pleasure".
We had a sign as you entered town that said "May you find Paradise to be all it's name implies..." With a halo formed from an old saw blade over it. This is what it looked like.
I was thinking of doing a vintage style souvenir tee that says "May you find Pleasure, California to be all it's name implies..." With a halo over the P and some pine trees. Something in a similar aesthetic to this design.
I'd like to sell the shirts and have 100% of the profit go to the relief fund for the town, or maybe even specifically to animals effected by the fire. There are hundreds of pets being found with burns and also just unclaimed animals separated from their families.
Can anyone take this job on?
Great design resource
