Illustrator: Transform handles missing at certain scale.

I'm having an issue when I'm trying to transform objects at different "distances" it's I'm far away the middle handle is missing, like this:

And only if I zoom in it'll show me the middle one:

Is there any way to change this? I'm used to scale stuff from really far away and it's making waste time zooming in and out.
