Does anyone know if the LP180E Wacom pen works with the newer Intuos (non-pro) tablets?

Just got a CTH-490 Intuos tablet and found out that my old Bamboo pen isn't compatible. I'd like to get a second pen for the office and am looking at the LP180E, but I'm not sure if it is compatible or not. Has anyone here tried it out? I tried contacting Wacom over Twitter, but it doesn't look like they're responsive over the weekend.
