100 Things Every Designer Needs to Know About People (Voices That Matter)
Hey r/design.
I'm new to the freelance game. I've done some logo design work for friends and small business at very low rates, but now with the feedback I've received on my work and the portfolio I've built, I'd like to start charging what my time is worth.
I'm primarily a front-end web developer. My business building small sites with a cms is doing well, I have a few clients and some upcoming jobs.
However, logo design is a very new field for me. I've recently been asked by someone who was impressed with my work how much would I charge for some treatments (sketches and ideas) to show the direction I would take were he to hire me to re-design his current logo.
Should I look at this as an hourly rate? Or should I consider offering it as some kind of package?
What would you do in my position?
Many thanks.
Hello,
I have a startup brand and have spent time making many revisions to the designs. At this point I am at a loss on how to improve them. Should I just scrap the project completely?
Here is the site: http://sakada.supply/
Please let me know what you think and how I can improve them! The more detailed the better. Thank you!
I'm looking for a good digital proofing solution for my design team. Looking for something with a few specific criteria.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
Hi There Im interested to know what is your process when u are making new logo? What is your source for inspiration? How do you do research? and Any site you use for logo typography creation? For example: I use designspiration.net for searching a inspiration. And myfonts.com helps me in picking right font and style.

I have a 2by2inch plasic component that I am designing and would like to see if y'all have any interesting concepts of how to attach it to a dog collar?
dog collars are usually 1-3 inches wide and can range from a variety of products such as cloth, rubber, rope, leather etc.
I am aware of simply hanging my device from the collar, and like to avoid passing the collar through the device hooks.
thanks
Wondering what people's feeling towards Behance and Dribble networks for designers, Are they useful in getting work seen or is it all about view counts? I see it very common and popular with young emerging designers.
I've worked in the field since 2003, then full time in 2004 (pre-social media) Should I start one of these account? Is it a trend? or is it unnecessary or too late for my career in my mid-30's?
I currently work in sports branding with MLB and the NHL. I create nationally visible event logos and major league franchise identities. I also produce digital content. Current site for those interested: http://ift.tt/1J5j2OO
Yes, I've tried the online character recognition engines. No luck.
So I have made a t-shirt design that I really want. It does use some images that might be copyrated but I only want to make one for me. Does anyone know a site or method that I can use to make it. (the print is on the entire shirt including the sleeves)
Hey girls and guys,
I designed my own concept for the upcoming iPhone 7, as a mockup that you can display your work on. You can view it here I know the concept is a bit "out there" but hopefully some of you enjoy it and put it to good use :)
Anyone from this sub can download the mockup for free by clicking this dropbox link Please don't share this link outside of reddit ;)
If you feel like buying me a coffee for the mockup you can do so by purchasing the mockup through my website for $5 AUD which is about $3.75 USD, any donations are really really appreciated :)
Enjoy!!
P.S I chose not to put this on a creative marketplace as I feel a lot of the time they rip off the authors
Hey i work as a Graphic Designer but there is one thing i haven't made a lot of expierence with so i wanted to ask here if people know more about it.
Since Smartphones uses higher PPI values than the usual PC Monitor i wanted to create sharp Pictures who "benefit" from the higher PPI values.
So what would give me the best Result (example Samsung s6 (1440 x 2560 @ ~577PPI)?:
a) Create a Document with 1440x2560 px @ 577PPI and save it that way?
b) Create a Document with 1440x2560 px @ 72 PPI then change the PPI to 577 so i get 11540 x 20515 px @ 577ppi and save it in 1440 x 2560 @ 577 PPI
c) ??
Thanks in advance!
