Can you help describe this particular style of contemporary design in words....

I come from a fine art background but I also do a bit of 3d stuff, and Im trying to grasp the correct word for something so when Im describing something to people they know what I'm talking about.

currently regarding 'contemporary design' Im struggling to describe the very common style which uses organic curved shapes which intersect with other shapes/materials, for example found trendy running shoes, sports cars, bullet trains and subway trains, usually the outside has an obvious aerodynamic objective, while the interiors of public transit vehicles are designed for simple maintenance, robustness and a unique minimal aesthetic appeal, which complements the exterior's design. no idea what its called but it must have name.
