Variable Width Strokes in drawing and design software

Hi. I'd like to know if you know any software (preferably free) that allows the user to make strokes with variable width, also giving the user full control of the width in every part of the stroke.

https://youtu.be/qL2IWDp5vPk - So far, this is one of the only softwares I saw that are capable of doing so. It's Adobe Illustrator. The other is Affinity Design, but it's not intuitive, since width is defined in a graph, not on the stroke itself.

I'm looking for other programs, that don't necessarily need to be centered on vectors (it can be raster/pixels too).

If possible, I'd like to know if there's a more suitable subreddit for this specific question.
