A question about the general modern design of bathrooms in private settings

Why is it that at high end hotels and resorts, the bathrooms have elements of semi-transparent doors/windows, like doors that are have misted glass, which provides a sillouete of the person inside? I'm sure there are aesthetic purposes for this, but I find it hard to understand because a bathroom is the most private place in any public or private setting? Is there any specific reason for it being this way? Even in family rooms, once I stayed in a hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa, and the entire bathroom wall was just a huge frosted glass adjacent to the shower.
