Will a "Kiridashi" style knife work as an X-acto knife?

I am a knifemaker, and i would like to make a gift for a friend who uses x-actos frequently. By kiridashi i mean something like this http://ift.tt/2c97ihH (although i could do a shorter blade, since id assume that nobody would need a rather long blade for just cutting patterns?).

Would something like that, made to be around 1/10th-1/8th thick on the spine, work well as an x-acto knife?

I apologize if this is the wrong subreddit, if it is, would yall mind directing me to the right one?
