I got in touch with this company based in NYC because they were looking for a UI Designer (I’m based in London but it’s a remote position).
I submitted my portfolio and they got back to me saying that my work looks great and they wanted me to do a design challenge. The challenge is basically giving them my vision on what their website should look like.
What I find strange is that we didn’t even spoke over the phone and they’re simply going to hire me based on my take of their website?
I’m doing interviews here in London where they want to see my work, then they want to talk with me over the phone, then they want to meet me in person, then they send me a design challenge and after that they want to meet me again to present my solution in front of the team.
I know design challenges are pretty common, but they usually give them to you after two rounds of interviews (that’s my experience). There’s also no deadline, so it’s up to me whenever I’lll send them the work.
Any thoughts? Thanks!
Great design resource
