Finders fee for new clients at a design firm

I'm an industrial designer at a design consultancy currently in the process of negotiating a finders fee for a client I met outside of work and built a connection with over a two week period. The contract is for around $750k and will give four employees including me near full time work for 6 months as we do a full product development cycle. Our company does not have any established rules around finders fees and it's up to me to make a case based on other design firms. We're not a large company and this contract will be about 10% of the revenue this year. What is your company policy? Can anyone speak to any finders fees you've received in the past?
