Why aren't my media query break points triggering?

This code is intended to change the header image on mobile devices with a width less that 480px.

jsfiddle link

 @media only screen and (max-width: 480px){ /* /\/\/\/\/\/\/ CLIENT-SPECIFIC MOBILE STYLES /\/\/\/\/\/\/ */ body, table, td, p, a, li, blockquote{-webkit-text-size-adjust:none !important;} /* Prevent Webkit platforms from changing default text sizes */ body{width:100% !important; min-width:100% !important;} /* Prevent iOS Mail from adding padding to the body */ *[class].social-cell { width: 100% !important; } *[class].social-spacer { height: 10px !important; } .hero-image .top-image { background-image: url('http://ift.tt/21WC9hI;) !important} }

Question about how to do something.

Hey guys and gals,

I'm working on customizing a SquareSpace website, and I'm stuck at the best way to go about something. It's more a feature than visual design. What I need to make is a basic system that allows users to book time through a simple log-in and calendar. Preferably they should be able to pay or place a deposit as well. I found an example that matches exactly my needs, curious the best way to go about getting this functionality, you can see the example of what I need here: http://ift.tt/1X392s6

Is this just a plug-in? Or is it some custom developed code? Ideally there would be a free plug-in I could I grab and figure out, but also definitely willing to pay for some custom code/dev-time if needed.

Thanks!

Feedback Friday - April 01, 2016

Create something? Let's see it!

Feedback Requestors

Please use the following format

URL:

Purpose:

Technologies Used:

Feedback Requested: (e.g. general, usability, code review, or specific element)

Comments:

Post your site along with your stack and technologies used and receive feedback from the community. Please refrain from just posting a link and instead give us a bit of a background about your creation.

Feel free to request general feedback or specify feedback in a certain area like user experience, usability, design, or code review.

Feedback Providers

  • Please post constructive feedback. Simply saying, "That's good" or "That's bad" is useless feedback. Explain why.
  • Consider providing concrete feedback about the problem rather than the solution. Saying, "get rid of red buttons" doesn't explain the problem. Saying "your site's success message being red makes me think it's an error" provides the problem. From there, suggest solutions.
  • Be specific. Vague feedback rarely helps.
  • Again, focus on why.
  • Always be respectful

I'm going to launch a startup project very soon but have huge trouble with presenting my complex application in a nice and simple way - any tips/inspiration?

Hello guys, over the past year I've been working on a startup web application that is going to launch soon.

So everything is finished and I feel like I have the most difficult step just in front of me. How do I present my complex application as simple as possible? I have no idea how I can present the application to my costumers because it always looks too much / too complex, although the concept is quite simple and has been already used by customers.

Do you have any tips on how to present an app well? Any inspiration? Anything I should definitely avoid?
