Is there anyway to compress a pdf and to keep the same image quality (300 dpi)?

Hello all,

Need to send a pdf to printing but the file is 211mb, which is just way too large. I heard that pdf compressors reduce to the dpi to around 72 which obviously isnt ok to print.

Would you know how one can compress a pdf and still maintain the image quality? Does Adobe Acrobat maintain the quality?
