100 Things Every Designer Needs to Know About People (Voices That Matter)
So recently I had to reach out to Adobe about a billing issue and talked to their chat support. During the conversation, I had to give my phone number (for what I thought was verification for my account) only to realize that my phone number was never in my account in the first place. Not even 24hrs later, I start getting scam phone calls on my phone, the ones that call 3 times a day. Thankfully that only lasted 3 days before they gave up (thanks call blockers!)
Then today, I ended up calling their support line because they never resolved my issue. Since the queue was so long I left my phone number for them to call me back. Not even five minutes after I hang up with the guy I get a new scam call.
Has anyone else of r/design and users of Adobe products ever had this problem? I can't tell if its the support people giving my number away under the table or if it's Adobe being even more of a scumbag company. Either way, this is extremely frustrating and really pisses me off and curious if there's any others out there before I send an angry message off.
Industrial designer on third world country. I graduated five years ago, but my jobs only lasts a couple of months, job hunting requires more and more specialized experience time that i don’t have.
Between unemployment and depression i’m starting to losing it... in the meanwhile, Changing my career into art and illustration takes time and resources to learn and relearn some skills.
/design generalist without experience and decent works. At the middle of nowhere/
Thanks in advance.
Not sure if this is the best place to ask this. If someone has a better idea, let me know. Anyway...
I have a shirt design I did and want to sell it. I see online stores like RedBubble will pretty much do all the hard work for me and if I do more art I can sell other stuff too. What are some other sites that do this, and does anyone here have any insight into what might be the best one of these types of online stores?
I need it for a project before Wednesday.. please PM me if you can. Thanks
I'm designing a dashboard to assist surgeons in the operating room. A lot of the screens for surgery that I've seen have very dark UI's so I wasn't sure if there were any sort of standards or guidelines for them that anyone knew anything about.
Thanks!
I am an industrial designer, and have successfully worked in the field for a year. I have been taking the TTC for the entire time and have literally 3 hours of free time (commuting time) that I hate wasting.
Are there any other industrial/graphic designers out there who have learned a certain/specific type of coding? If so, what kind was it and where did you learn it? I'm thinking HTML but also interested in learning to code to develop/create apps.
(I'm thinking of going to codeacademy.com to learn some, and using book [idiot's guide to coding?] as another learning source)
Hey guys,
I'm going in for an interview on Wednesday for a 3D generalist/ motion design role; more of a 3D generalist role than notion design but that's fine. It's for a junior position which will be my first job in this industry.
I'm unsure of what questions I should be asking as I haven't had a proper interview since my job in retail whilst I was in college some 6 years ago. For example I have no idea what kind of salary I'll be expecting. I'm thinking of diverting the question when they ask what I'm after and instead asking what they'll be offering someone in my position as I really have no idea how much I can get for a junior role. I do think I'm more advanced for a junior role however I could be being big headed as I'm not sure of what other juniors designers are capable of so there's that... they answered my application within the hour so that's a good start anyways!!
I know I can Google this however I'm after questions which are more specific to the role I'm being interviewed for, though I'm also asking for general questions as well as its been a long time since my last interview. Even then I had the job before being interviewed anyways!
I'm really hopeing to score this as its my first job in the 3D industry after self teaching for damn too long. I'm excited and scared at the same time as I don't want to fail this opportunity.
Thanks for any replies in advance.
Here's the job list:

The job sounds varried which is nice :)
Thanks guys.
We've all been there. I need this logo design ASAP. Can you do multiple mockups for my huge project for free? I have an idea what I want but provide no direction. I saw this ad can you copy it? I need a viral video, you're good at computers. Insert clueless design request, unrealistic timeline and no budget here.
How do you respond in a way that both makes the request go away and makes the requestor respect your time?
Hi folks,
I'm doing some work for a startup organisation that has a number of different branches. Right now each branch has an icon/logo, but no set wordmark, and I'm looking to create a more unified system of logos that brings each branch together while also defining a set wordmark for each one.
Examples of similar systems I can think of are HM Government of the UK and the government of Germany
Can anyone recommend any other examples from organisations that have a system like this in place?
I work in-house right now, and the most difficult thing is that project info is handed down in pieces, so I am not just designing, I’m doing a lot of content strategy. In some ways, this helps me have more influence over the way it all comes together, but I definitely wish there were more experienced content-creating people on our team! :)
Been wondering what this type of style is called with the wavey gradients and how is it created?

I'm currently working as a graphic designer in a small factory, and I'm considering further studying. I wanted to learn a new skill, but i'm a little undecided on whether i should go for web design or web development. Hoping for some helpful advice here.

I own a design/build architectural sign company in the SE that has predominately obtained our business through referrals and very little proactive selling. We do a lot of work with multi-family developers, hospitals and hospitality. We are looking to expand our business and would like to hear from E.G.D on how we as a sign company can help.
We have worked with designers in the past but very few and far between. Design firms typically know of a project long before shovels hit dirt and i'm sure there's a trick to partnering with firms but we haven't been able to figure out that trick yet.
For those of you out there that work with environmental design firms, what is your relationship with sign vendors. Do you see that your firms or the firms you work for have a relationship or is signage an after-thought?
Would love any feedback that anyone can provide. I want my sales team to start reaching out to local firms(major SE city) if there could be opportunity there.
Thanks.

Hi guys, I have two dribbble invites to draft some fellow designers, comment your portfolio below and I'll pick two colleagues to start dribbbling.
I am trying to explain to someone why pictures are sometimes better than a long, drawn out explanation. I figured the best way to prove my point is by having a side by side comparison.
Do you all happen to have any examples of something that would require pictures in order to understand how to use it? And then have the long-winded explanation version without pictures alongside it?
