So I became a Graphic Designer.

So I've always had a love and passion for creating my own content, albeit on a small-scale, personal level. That changed when I became an Event Promoter selling tickets to events in Australia. I noticed that their content they provided to promoters was pretty lackluster, so I spiced it up with my own edits and even built a page with my own logo that I made in Illustrator.

Fast forward a bit and I convinced my boss that we should become a legit business instead of something just on Facebook, so we sat down and I took on the job of creating a logo and launch material for our new Company. Then, after launching, I also did a job where I made some media presskit material for an artist that a friend of mine managed.

So, here I am, now a sole trader & basically self-taught graphic designer, trying to see where to go from here. I have to admit, its intimidating as hell, especially when trying to look for more clients with such a limited portfolio and knowledgebase. But I guess I like the challenge, because I keep getting up and spending ages on Adobe programs.

Design has replaced gaming for me and thats pretty wild.

What was it like for some of you guys starting out, especially if you were self taught?
