I'm at university doing Design, with a big focus on graphic design, among other things and in one class we were having a discussion about whether graphic design should be considered art or not.
I was in the minority of people who said it wasn't, with my reasoning being along the lines of
"Art is usually made so it can be interpreted in a hundred different ways, whereas good design is made to be understood objectively. If you have to interpret a design to understand it's purpose then i don't think it's doing it's job well."
I've found this idea to be a little divisive, so i'm curious to see what people on here think.
Great design resource
