So me and a friend have started a new arts publication called TAXI Magazine and have just put out our second issue. I'm not totally sure how appropriate this post is for this particular subreddit but I thought who better to share it with than fellow lovers of all things artistic?
The basic premise of the magazine is that it is free to read. We don't make money off the magazine itself. We have launched our website (taximagazine.co) where each issue can be found to read from start to finish and are hoping that through the sales of the t-shirts on our store, we will soon be able to produce physical copies of the magazine that will be sold at no profit.
While the magazine itself is not-for-profit, the clothing line we are developing is what will fund the physical copies (as mentioned), as well as allowing us to make this our full-time jobs. Once this becomes a full-time thing, we will be able to focus fully on it and extend our reach to even more artists.
At the moment, the magazine acts as a way to help spread the word about certain artists but we do have future plans to help as many artists as we can financially as well. We aren't going to share the ideas just yet of course, but they are really cool and should help a great number of artists take steps to being able to live off their work.
We don't want to make money off other people's art. We just want to make something cool and share it with as many people as we can reach.
This post is just about asking you to take a look at the magazine, provide us with any feedback you may have, and, most importantly, check out the artists we have featured so far!
