Looking for some inspiration pieces to work on a poster(political/business)

I'm in my college business club and we're hosting a speaker featuring a Los Angeles city councilman. Looking to promote his background, with a clean/simple design to get the college audience hyped up.

The speaker's background is very distinguished and I'd like to highlight it without looking busy (Stanford/Harvard educated, exec of US Bank, city councilman, former mayor, former exec of KPMG, American Express, Ernst Young, etc.) Kinda going for an art-deco/vintage travel or movie poster look, but if there's a better theme to go with, I'm open to suggestions.
