Icon collaboration between designers and developers?

I am looking for some way to provide some form of icon control and consistency within our app.

Part of this work requires me to list all the icons we are currently using and what they will be replaced by.

Can anyone recommend the best way to do this? Is there any software out there that cna control this process?
