Ivan Chermayeff, a towering legend of a graphic designer, has passed away yesterday.

If you flip through his portfolio book without knowing that it is a body of work done by a single man, you might think it's a collection of the best logos ever created by the whole industry.

His works include logos for CBS, NBC, Smithsonian, Pan Am, and so much more.

I was a student for his class last semester. His incredible brilliance speaks for itself, but he was so also such a kind and humble person to everyone. He was sharp with his critique yet soft-spoken, dedicated to his craft to his last breath, and had a giant heart for designing for the sake of the betterment of the world.

I already miss him so much. His death is a heavy loss for the whole industry.
