Killer Portfolio or Portfolio Killer: Advice from Industry Artists [x-post /r/graphic_design]

I wanted to share this awesome video, since I often see questions from design students and/or new grads about their portfolios, what to avoid, and how to just make them better. While this particular talk is geared more towards artists looking to get a job in the gaming industry, there's a lot of great advice that applies to design as well. They touch on some frequently asked questions, such as quality vs quantity, should a portfolio be broad or specialized, and how important is it to be able to talk about your process.

If you haven't heard of the GDC Vault site, I highly recommend it! They post recordings and even slides from the conference. Lots of great talks and insights from industry professionals.
