Hey all, I have been hired on in my first formal ID role, and will be using captivate in a professional capacity for the first time. The position is a new ID role at a nonprofit. Last year they outsourced 12 eLearning modules to a freelancer. I have been tasked with making some minor adjustments to these and also creating new ones. I will also use Absorb LMS for hosting these and designing other instructor-led training courses. I have a few questions for any takers. Thanks in advance!
- Any recommendations for working with content created by another ID? We will have all assets in the near future including storyboards, images, icons, animations,
- Any recommendations for learning Captivate aside from the initial Adobe content? Youtube channels or other resources that you have found especially useful?
- What do you see as the real affordances of Captivate vs say Storyline, or even just building out content in the LMS? (Absorb allows for a wide range of tasks, objects and content) There seems to be a lot more work involved compared to storyline and maybe not much benefit, especially if the modules need to be updated every 3-6 months (which seems to be the case, for their past projects)
- Anyone here familiar with Absorb? There seems to be a number of small nuances and would love to hear about your experiences and challenges or successes.
Great design resource
