How exactly does a drawing tablet like this one work?

Found this tablet on some chinese site, I don't know if I really want it but shit, I might need it.

I was wondering, because I actually have some designs coming up that I need to make for my study, if I can use this thing for it? I simply need to draw and it would be awesome to do it digitally.

But...how do you see where you draw? The tablet itself has no screen so I have no clue how you'd know where you're drawing. Does it differentiate between cursor moving and actual drawing?
