My GF has looked into getting an interior design certificate/degree but those programs seem to concentrate a lot on the structure of a space/building, rather than the stuff that is actually used to decorate the place.
She's also not too fond of designing furniture either. What she wants to focus on is designing ceramics/porcelain/dinnerware and maybe branch out into silverware/tablecloth/embroidery and other home deco design.
I know it's very specific. The only thing I could think of might be graphic design major or perhaps industrial design?
Great design resource
