Okay, so I am not very good at Reddit, but I attached an Imgur link here. I needed to explain this, and I felt a link post and title would not do it justice...
So here is my dilemma. I am currently working with curves. In image 1, you see my base starting curve. Simple enough. In image 2, notice that I have duplicated the curve and moved it to the right. Notice how at points 1, 2, 3, and 4 the widths of the shape it would create are not equidistant. I want them to be equidistant. In image 3, I used offset path and made it equidistant. Mission 1 is accomplished. Now here is where it gets tricky. I need to take this exact curve and make it narrower. In image 4, I did that. Notice how the space between shape one and 2 has the same problem as in image 2. How in the heck do I solve this problem? I just want the curve to flow organically to make those two "s-shaped" shapes where the space between each curve is equidistant no matter where you are at on the y-axis.How do I accomplish this?
Any help is very much appreciated. I have been looking for a book on curves in design, and I cannot find anything. I do not know how to look for what I am asking about, so I turn to you, Reddit. I can only find tutorials about the pen and curvature tool, the gym called Curves, or abstract geometry concepts like the Reuleaux triangle and such. Please help...
